Aventine Hill, S. Sabina, S. Prisca, S. Alessio, Piazza dei cavalieri di Malta, Dome of St. Peter’s through the keyhole, Giardino degli Aranci
Rome, a blessed city, invincible and eternal.
The Aventine, that fascinating Roman hill, appears even more beautiful and majestic if seen from above. We will climb the hill on our walk and admire Rome from a unique viewpoint; we will see it from the famous “Garden of Oranges”, with its domes, towers and mansions standing out against the sky in a typical postcard scene. The hill not only boasts the very best view of Rome, but also some of the earliest Christian basilicas: St. Sabina, St. Alessio, and St. Prisca, favourite venues for many weddings today. Finally, we will spend some time in the Piazzale dei Cavalieri di Malta (Square of the Knights of Malta), where a peek through the keyhole at the Villa of the Priory will magically reveal the dome of St. Peter’s!
