Domus under Palazzo Valentini
Below the surface of the street, under the building that houses the Roman provincia administration, an unprecedented discovery has been made in 2010: the Roman domus, incredibly rich in historical and archeological value, which were private residences to the most wealthy and powerful Roman families (probably senators).
They include mosaics, decorated walls, multicolored floors, basalt floors and artifacts. Through a virtual reenactment made through light, sound and projections, the visitor will see the Domus come back to life in all their details: rooms, peristyles, baths, furnishings, decorations and kitchens, including artifacts from the Imperial era. This multimedia project, designed by Piero Angela (among others), engages visitors in an interactive way, bringing the past back to life.
